The IRB WebkitT is an advanced web-based toolkit that lets you customize your
own IRB database to fit your institution's unique requirements.
Out-of-the-box, the IRB WebKit
-
Lets PIs use the web to submit protocol applications, continuing reviews,
amendments, adverse events and violations and deviations.
-
Lets protocol administrators use the web to manage protocols, meetings,
researchers, and sponsors.
-
Supports both online and offline processes, i.e. complete forms on the web,
upload electronic documents, or mail forms and documents to the protocol office
(tracking when they are received)
-
Generates IRB agendas and minutes.
-
Generates approval letters, continuing review notices, etc.
-
Tracks whether study staff members have completed training.
-
Tracks other committee approvals, e.g. pharmacy, radiation safety, etc.
Use the Toolkit to
-
Quickly convert your paper forms into web forms.
-
Specify business rules, e.g. if the protocol involves drugs, ask the PI to
complete the pharmacy application and mark the protocol for review by the
pharmacy committee.
-
Specify what documents must be uploaded or mailed to the protocol office, e.g.
a Word document containing the protocol description.
-
Create / customize mail merge letters, e.g. approval letters, 90/60/30 day
continuing review notices, etc.
Implementation Services ensure that your
implementation is a success.
Third Sky can provide the following additional services.
-
Configuration

forms, create standard mail-merge letters, etc.
-
Customization
- when you license the IRB WebKit you get the source code. If you need to
change it, who better to ask than the makers of IRB WebKit!
-
Custom Reports
- we can create standard reports tailored to your requirements.
-
Data Conversion
- we can convert the data from your existing IRB system into the IRB WebKit.
-
System Integrations
- we can integrate the IRB WebKit with other systems, e.g. grants and
contracts, etc.
-
Training - we can conduct user training using classroom or a
train-the-trainer approach. We also provide technical training so your data
administrator and technical staff can learn how to configure and customize the
IRB WebKit.
Hardware/Software Requirements
The IRB WebKit uses industry standard technologies to support your protocol
office and scale to support thousands of researchers. The IRB WebKit can easily
handle thousands of new protocols per year.

* Concurrent users is the number of users that are actively requesting a page
from the web server at the same time. This number is much lower than the number
of users that may be using the application simultaneously and is usually a
fraction of the total number of users. Since the total number of users includes
both protocol administrators and principal investigators, please contact us and
we can help you determine your hardware and software requirements.
